This medal is the first to reuse an image directly from a previous Olympics, as well as the last year that gold medals would be made of solid gold (from 1900 to 1912 medals were solid gold, afterward they would be gold plated silver)

Obverse (front): Stockholm uses the same image of an athlete being crowned by two women.

Reverse: An image of a herald opening the games and a bust of Pehr Henrik Ling, a Swedish gymnastics pioneer.
