2008 Beijing Summer Winner's Medal, 2008 Beijing Summer Prize Medals

Beijing represents the first time a two-material medal is used at the Summer Olympics. Albertville Winter Olympics in 1992 were the first to use two materials in any Olympics.

Obverse (front): Newer Nike design from Athens 2004 is reused and becomes the new standard for use in the 21st century.

Reverse: Jade is inlaid into the reverse side, with the Beijing Olympic logo as well as the name of the event.
